Yate is a town on the edge of the Cotswolds 12 miles north of Bristol which is the largest City in the west of England.
Yate was a small village until Bristol Aeroplane Company moved here about the time of the First World War.
Since that time it has steadily grown and in the early 60's it was used as an overspill for London & Bristol.
Yate is now a thriving Town of 30,000 people with a shopping centre and lots of Industrial sites in the area.
With a lot of the population working in the aircraft industries as well as the big Ministry procurement site at Abbeywood near the Mall Shopping Centre at Cribbs Causeway.
Yate Indoor Bowls Club play their games at Yate Leisure Centre which is on the Shopping Centre Complex.
We have four rinks which is laid with Greengage Carpet we
are a mixed club with the ladies having their own Section.
We play in leagues everyday except Saturday at the weekends we play friendly matches against local Clubs
The Club also has a youth development club where youngsters are encouraged to get in to Bowls as well. We run beginners Classes throughout the season
